Baby Food
Rather than opting for readymade baby food
it would be better to opt for home made baby food. Baby food is
an important part of the healthy development of the baby and if
given proper baby food babies will develop quite fast. One must
ensure that the food given to the baby is rich in proteins, calcium,
fats, vitamins, carbohydrate and iron so that it results in both
physical and mental growth of the child. During the first six months
the baby needs to be breast fed and after this period the baby should
be fed watery puree such as runny yogurt and after seven months
one can even offer lumpy food to the baby with mushy consistency
such as mashed bananas, rice pudding etc. After the child has become
nine months old one can feed the baby with shredded or diced food
such as cheese or Vienna sausages. One can continue with this type
of baby food until the child is one year old. After the child has
attained the age of one the child should be shifted to family food
coupled with whole milk.
Keep one thing in mind that during the development stage your baby will require lot of iron and vitamins since iron promotes both mental and physical development and vitamin leads to further growth and development. The baby should be given certain types of food such as cauliflower, apricots, rice cereal, peaches and sweet potatoes. One should avoid food such as wheat, rye, barley and oatmeal until the child is at least six months old.
If possible try and give the baby home made baby food rather than readymade baby food since home made baby food would be more wholesome and enriching for the child and there is no substitute for nature.
